The Description of Kung Fu
Kung Fu is an ancient martial art from China. It is believed to be one of the first martial arts ever created and is still practiced today. These martial arts were first practiced by the Shaolin monks as an effective way of defending their temples. Anyone learning Kung Fu had to go to the Shaolin temples high in the mountains of China and train diligently. To become a true master of Kung Fu, training must start at a very young age. This meant parents who wanted their children to learn Kung Fu sent them to the Shaolin monks at an early age.
The Kung Fu techniques are mostly derived from nature. They copy the aspects of different creatures and use them as fighting techniques, leading them to have animal names like tiger style, or crane style. These techniques have been shown often in martial arts movies, although they are typically altered for entertainment purposes.
Kung Fu is not only about power and strength, it requires the student to have the proper mindset, discipline, attitude, patience, and knowledge. Of course, proper strength, endurance, and good health are also needed as the styles can be quite physically demanding. Kung Fu requires the student to be one with nature and because of this, part of Kung Fu training is meditation. Because of the vastness and the understanding needed to properly use each one effectively, it would be almost impossible to learn and master all the fighting stances available in Kung Fu.
